this year, we flew out to visit our friend, H, who currently resides and works for mammoth mountain in california.
mammoth has been experiencing somewhat of a mild winter like us. luckily, the week before our arrival they got dumped with snow so everything opened just in time for our arrival.
we flew into mammoth on a small plane via san francisco and landed at the smallest airport i have ever seen. like blink and i guarantee you will miss it.
we skied/snowboarded mammoth and june (mammoth's little sister) mountain. no powder, but a lot of nicely groomed trails.
we went snowmobiling.
we stopped by mono lake, the "dead sea" of california, to see the tufas (the things sticking out of the water).
and we pretended to ice skate on a frozen lake at tamarack lodge.
we were blessed with beautiful and sunny weather for all of our outdoor activities.
we had a blast! murky buckets to the hostess with the mostess :)
